There's something special about having a beautiful bookcase made and having a secret door miraculously open, brings a bit of magic to your home, as one of my clients said. The practicalities of bookcases with hidden doors are abundant, especially for security, I've made them for hiding safes, offices bedrooms and even a cinema room. There are a couple of times where a new extension doorway has to go by the fireplace, a door doesn't quite look right but a bookcase looks perfect.
